Position Title: Wind Substation Coordinator

Reports To: Manager, Renewable Operations

Direct Reports: No Functional Unit: Asset Management & Operations

FLSA Status: Exempt Position Type: Full-Time

Plant Location: Route 66 (Texas) and South Plains II (Texas), Lubbock (Texas) and Plainview (Texas)

Route 66 is a 150 MW Wind Farm located in Armstrong and Carson counties in Texas. The site commercial operation was 2015. The site has 75 Vestas V110 wind turbines rated at 2.0 MW. On tower turbine maintenance is contracted to Vestas under a long-term contract.

THE CHALLENGE

The Wind Site Substation Coordinator is responsible for the management of the overall balance of plant Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of Route 66 and South Plains II Wind projects. This position reports to the Wind Site Plant Manager. The Substation Coordinator represents Onward Energy through contractor management, liaison with landowners and other government officials. Position manages contractors to ensure the safe and timely completion of projects to support reliable operations.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES

THE PROFILE TO SUCCEED

Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Power preferred. Applicable years of experience may substitute for a degree.

THE WORK ENVIRONMENT

Performing this job without full/focused attention may cause serious injury or even fatality. Work is generally performed inside the power plant but may work in all weather conditions ranging from warm/hot - cool/cold. Occasional rain. Noise levels will be moderate to high. The job site will contain light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools. People standing, walking, sitting, signaling, and talking. Bells, whistles, and alarms.
