Well Planner

Total Directional Services is currently accepting applications for an experienced Well Planner. The primary work location for this position would be at a customer’s office in Pittsburgh, PA . Candidates must possess at least two years of experience as a Directional Well Planner and proficiency in using Landmark Compass. Experience designing wells in the Marcellus and Utica shales will be given strong preference, as will experience with torque and drag and other modeling software. Total will offer a competitive salary and bonus compensation commensurate with experience.

The responsibilities of the Well Planner will include (but, not limited to):

- Use the information provided by the customer to create a well design.

- Plot and prepare graphic representations to provide to customers and rig locations.

- Receive surveys from Directional Drillers and enter them into the computer to provide plan vs. actual comparative reports and compile end-of-well reports for the customer.

- Maintain information from proposal to end-of-well.

- Closely monitor and mitigate potential collision hazards

- Lead pre-planning meetings with customers if needed.

- Perform various other duties and activities assigned by the supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.

Non-Negotiable Requirements:

- The prospective candidate must have at least 1 year of experience working as a Well Planner.

- The prospective candidate must have at least 1 year of experience using Landmark Compass software.

- The prospective candidate must either reside or be willing to relocate to the Pittsburgh, PA area, as this position requires showing up to an office most days.

Pay for this position depends on experience.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
