Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welding Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical engineering and be proficient in various welding techniques and technologies. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and optimize welding processes for our manufacturing operations. The Welding Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring product quality, safety, and compliance with industry standards.
- Develop and implement welding procedures and specifications in accordance with ASME codes & standards.
- Conduct root cause analysis to troubleshoot welding issues and improve process efficiency.
- Utilize CAD software such as SolidWorks and Creo for mechanical design and drafting of welding fixtures and components.
- Collaborate with project teams on project scheduling to ensure timely completion of welding projects.
- Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to assess the structural integrity of welded components.
- Design and test programmable logic controllers (PLC) for automated welding systems.
- Create and maintain schematics for welding equipment and systems design.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes using tools like LabVIEW, Simulink, and MATLAB.
- Provide technical support during the manufacturing process, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians in best practices for welding engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in mechanical engineering principles.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo) for drafting and design purposes.
- Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles is essential.
- Experience with CNC machining processes is preferred.
- Knowledge of quantum engineering concepts is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple projects effectively.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in root cause analysis methodologies.
