Perform TIG welding operations to repair and/or salvage castings by identifying and removing defects, filling holes, building sections, welding cracks, etc.
High school degree or GED is required. Vo-tech program in a related discipline is preferred. Must be a certified welder and have six (6) months of welding experience. Must complete military/aerospace welding certification testing. GTAW and TIG experience on aluminum preferred.
Must be able to read, interpret and follow written work instructions and specifications. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions with accuracy.
Exposed to heat, fumes, dust and noise. Must be able to bend, reach, walk, stand, stoop and squat. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Regularly handles flame and gas. Must wear protective safety equipment including welding hood, face shields, apron, leather gloves and long sleeve shirt (natural fibers). No exposed skin is allowed (UV danger).
