Description
The Welder is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal components using various welding techniques. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality work in alignment with Armstrong International’s standards and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform MIG, TIG, and/or stick welding operations on materials such as stainless steel, carbon steel, and other alloys.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, specifications, and welding procedures to meet production requirements.
- Operate and maintain welding equipment, ensuring safety and functionality.
- Assemble and weld components according to engineering drawings and work orders.
- Inspect welded surfaces and structures for quality, accuracy, and conformance to specifications.
- Identify and resolve welding defects such as porosity, cracks, or incomplete fusion.
- Prepare materials for welding, including cutting, grinding, and cleaning surfaces.
- Use tools such as grinders, saws, and plasma cutters to prepare and shape materials.
- Willingness to learn or train in the position.
- Must have the physical and mental stamina to stand, walk, lift, and adjust to the noise and lighting of the manufacturing environment.
- Other duties as assigned and not limited to just the above.
Key Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools related to welding and fabrication.
- Strong attention to detail, precision, and quality control.
