- Execute welding tasks using various welding techniques to join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable materials.
- Accurately read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine welding requirements.
- Regularly inspect welding equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working condition, and perform routine maintenance as needed.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Conduct quality checks on completed welds to ensure they meet specifications and standards.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used and time spent on each task.
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and equipment.
- Ability to produce precise and high-quality welds.
- Capable of troubleshooting and resolving welding-related issues.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials and working in various positions.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with team members and report on project progress.
- Strong understanding of safety practices and the ability to implement them consistently.
- High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a welding certification program from an accredited institution is preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in industrial welding or a related field.
- Valid welding certifications are highly desirable.
- Tools, equipment, machinery used: Hydroblasting, Vacuum Truck, and Tank cleaning equipment.
- Working conditions: Will be exposed to all weather conditions. Work on various structures and surfaces both at ground and elevated levels up to and possibly exceeding 150 ft. Work in confined spaces. Work a 12-hour shift with 30-minute lunch breaks. If requested, work overtime, and respond to emergency callouts whenever they occur. Work days, nights, and weekends. Travel to customer and other Miller sites as needed.
- Physical effort required: Handling tools, materials, and equipment weighing up to 150 lbs. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, crawl, bend, squat, and kneel. Must be capable of climbing towers/vessels/tanks.
