Position Summary:

Tacten is looking for skilled CWB Structural Welders to join our project team in the Atlantic Region. This is your chance to work in a fast-paced, hands-on industrial environment, gain valuable experience on challenging projects, and advance your career while honing your technical skills.

Position Details:

Responsibilities:

- Perform welding tasks using SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW processes to weld structural components per engineering specifications and industry standards.

- Weld in various positions—flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead—ensuring strong, high-quality welds that meet project requirements.

- Read and interpret welding procedure specifications (WPS), blueprints, and technical drawings to determine material requirements and assembly instructions.

- Prepare materials for welding by cleaning, cutting, and fitting components.

- Set up, calibrate, and maintain welding equipment to ensure proper functionality and safe operation.

- Inspect welds for defects, measure dimensions for compliance with CWB standards, and perform necessary repairs or rework as required.

- Conduct non-destructive testing (NDT) such as visual inspection, dye penetrant, and magnetic particle testing when required.

- Adjust welding techniques as needed to correct defects and maintain high-quality workmanship.

- Follow all workplace safety regulations, including proper use of PPE, safe handling of welding equipment, and adherence to industry codes such as CSA W47.1 and W59.

- Comply with CWB standards, industry regulations, and company policies to ensure high-quality and safe welding practices.

Requirements:

- Journeyman Welding Certification or Registered Apprentice required

- CWB SMAW all position certification required

- IRATA Level 1 required or willingness to obtain

- All safety certifications as per required by provincial legislation
