Coordination and production of parts and products as needed for production including, but not limited to all activities for estimating, designing, building, welding, and repairing components.
- Analyze blueprints, drawings, and read measurements to plan layout and procedures
- Arranges components for welding
- Operate angle grinders to prepare parts
- Align components using calipers, rulers, etc.., and clamp pieces
- Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment
- Assist in machinery repairs by welding pieces and filling gaps
- Assess welded surfaces and structure
- Consult with Department Lead on quality concerns, prioritization and scheduling, and develop estimates.
- Assists department as a back-up machine operator when welding needs are limited
- Knowledge of fabrication processing beneficial
- Previous welding and machine operating experience
- Previous experience using designing programs
- Intermediate math skills beneficial
