A well-established engineering and environmental consultancy is seeking a Water & Wastewater Practice Lead to grow and lead their Texas Gulf Coast practice. This is a senior leadership role for an experienced engineer who is passionate about building teams, driving business development, and delivering innovative water and wastewater solutions for municipal, industrial, and private sector clients.
- Build and lead a team of engineers and scientists to deliver water and wastewater projects.
- Manage design and implementation of water treatment plants, pumping stations, storage tanks, wastewater treatment plants, sewer systems, and collection systems.
- Direct business development efforts to attract new clients and expand work with existing ones.
- Mentor junior staff on design parameters, plant layout, integration, and regulatory criteria.
- Oversee projects through all phases: concept, design, permitting, bidding, construction, and completion.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure project success.
- Support facility audits, treatability testing, technology evaluations, and project optimization.
- Provide troubleshooting, startup assistance, and operational support as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (Master’s a plus).
- 15+ years of experience in water and wastewater treatment projects.- Proven expertise in facility design, evaluations, audits, and technology selection.
- Strong business development and client relationship skills.
- Ability to hire, grow, and mentor staff to build a practice.
- Experience managing budgets, project estimates, and operational data.
- Knowledge of WWTP operations, SOP development, and operator training (Texas Water Operator license a plus).
- Strong technical writing and communication skills.
