Plant Operator - Water Treatment Plant / SLURRY PLANT OPERATOR
Responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of Slurry Plant.
· Performs a pre-trip safety inspection of stationary equipment and reports any problems.
· Performs a daily workplace exam of safety hazards and report any problems.
· Starts-up and shutdown of the Slurry Plant.
· Provides clean water to the other plants and must start-up first.
· Maintains plant operating equipment in good operating condition.
· Performs daily maintenance, including greasing the machine bearings.
· Performs daily housekeeping, including material spills, hosing the floors, and keeping mud and water flows free of debris.
· Records plant operations data in daily logs, including digital data inputs using computers.
· Willing to be trained and operate mobile equipment, including a forklift, front end loader, manlift and skid steer.
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Personal protective equipment is required on a regular basis, as needed, including hard hat, hearing protection, eye protection, hard-toed safety shoes or boots, dust mask respirator, protective clothing, gloves and other personal protective equipment.
· Employee may occasionally be required to work in environments which include exposure to extreme temperatures.
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb several flights of stairs and ladders, and work on elevated platforms.
· Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs. and shovel mud, rock, and sand.
