The Wastewater Collection System Maintenance Lead position involves duties associated with the repair, maintenance, and inspection of the wastewater collection system at the Mentor Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Applicants must have a High School diploma or GED. A valid Ohio Driver's license with a safe driving record and a drug screening are required. One (1) year experience with wastewater maintenance or equivalent is preferred. Must possess or be able to obtain within 18 months of hire, a Class A CDL with tanker and air brake endorsement and a Class I Ohio EPA Collection license.
Candidates for this position should have experience performing a variety of advanced level maintenance and operational tasks involving manual labor, ensuring preventative care, conducting general repairs, maintaining records, utilizing tools and equipment, communicating with contractors, consultants and customers, ensuring compliance with departmental rules and regulations, adhering to safety standards, providing on-the-job training and assisting site supervision with daily responsibilities. Candidates should have experience demonstrating a high degree of initiative and logic, exercising independent judgment, exhibiting sound decision-making when faced with complex or unique situations, consistently delivering general customer service in a professional fashion. This position will include physical labor, including working outdoors in all types of weather conditions. This position may require overtime, shift, weekend and holiday work, as well as flexible hours and rotating days.
