SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
To maintain the warehouse in such a manner as to ensure easy receipt and distribution of materials and supplies. To eliminate hazards, and to comply with all safety requirements.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
•Reports to Warehouse Foreman and Warehouse Operations Manager.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Maintains the warehouse and grounds in a clean efficient manner to enable easy access to materials and not be in violation of any safety policies.
•Maintains inventory and distribution of materials to be charged through the work order system.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Receives materials and supplies, which involves unloading trucks, placing materials on shelves, and pulling materials for the next day for the crews.
•Prepare requisitions and orders materials to restock inventory.
•Notify the warehouse supervisor when minimum order quantities are met.
•Checks inventory at random.
•Assists in conducting the biweekly physical inventory count.
•Issues materials for crews and contractors for daily work orders.
•Maintains transformer records for transformers in need of repair.
•Ability to read and understand work orders and is familiar with assemblies
•Insures a safe warehouse and supply yard through organization and cleanliness.
•Keeps warehouse clean and organized for safety purposes.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
•High School education, with five to seven months' prior experience necessary.
•Ability to perform outdoors, in adverse weather conditions for extended periods of time.
•Must have a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License.
•Ability to think clearly and must possess sound judgment abilities.
•Ability to work for extended periods of time in confined areas.
•Ability to write in a clear legible manner.
•Ability to perform maintenance on company equipment.
•Ability to use word and excel.
•Ability to perform basic computer functions.
•Ability to communicate and work well with fellow employees.
•Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and to request clarification when needed.
•Ability to lift objects of various sizes and shapes weighing more than 25 pounds.
•Ability to walk long distances over rough terrain for distances exceeding two miles.
•Ability to count large quantities of materials accurately.
•Ability to drive both stand on and ride on forklifts to transport materials.
•Attendance is an essential requirement for this position.
ON THE JOB TRAINING
Provides employees with overall exposure to equipment used and JOEMC Specifications so the employee can move to positions of increasing responsibility.
Trains in computer system operations for work order entry.
Will receive training on how to read and comprehend staking sheets. Will receive
training on the different assemblies and what materials are required to build each
type of assembly from the spec book.
Trains when schools are provided by Jones-Onslow EMC.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal working conditions inside and outside of the warehouse building. Regular working hours are from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday, except company observed holidays.
