Warehouse/Utility Worker

Shape specializes in Sanitation, Hydraulic, And Process Equipment for the water treatment and transport industry. Before becoming incorporated as what is now “SHAPE Inc.”, our business began 8 years before as “EC Cooling”. EC Cooling started as a Flygt Distributor in 1971, and later continued uninterrupted as the official Northern California Municipal Flygt Distributor. Shape’s corporate office is located in Pleasanton, CA where our day to day operations including admin, accounting, and sales (inside and out) are headquartered. Our Service Facility is located in Stockton, CA where our repair shop and warehouse, stock inventory, and sales are based. We have also recently opened our new Sacramento Area sales office in Gold River in the summer of 2020. This gives us centralized access to our full territory which covers north from the Kern County line to the Oregon Border and into parts of Northern Nevada. Responsibilities for all our lines not only include upfront engineering and sales, but aftermarket service and repairs.

SHAPE, Inc is hiring a Warehouse/ Utility Worker for their Stockton, CA office. You will be responsible for verifying deliveries against purchase orders, identifying and labeling items, maintaining inventory records, and general warehouse and facilities upkeep. Additional assistance with mechanical staff when needed.

This position requires working in person 5 days a week

Your Responsibilities:

- Receive and unload trucks and freight, manually or with equipment, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and Bills of Lading

- Sort, label, and put away incoming materials and components in their designated storage locations within the warehouse

- Pick, package, and prepare products and paperwork for shipment to customers or vendors

- Pulling parts from inventory for shipments

- Create BOL and labels for shipments and update tracking numbers for projects

- Maintain communication and relationships with freight carriers

- Maintain accurate inventory counts through physical checks and data entry, and monitor stock levels, alerting management to low stock

- Safely operate and inspect material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks

- Keep the warehouse, work areas, and fleet clean, orderly, and safe

- Transport materials between the warehouse and various work areas using carts, forklifts, or other equipment

- Rewire pumps and assist in tearing down pumping equipment with supervision

- Identify and document any discrepancies in received shipments and report them to the appropriate personnel, such as the Service Coordinator or service manager

Background/Experience:

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- 2+ years of related experience

- Strong attention to detail

- Good communication skills to report issues and collaborate with other departments

- Ability to follow work instructions and established procedures

- Valid California Driver's License with a good driving record

- Mechanical aptitude is a plus

- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

- Lift and carry heavy items, sometimes up to 50-70 lbs

- Push and pull heavy objects

- Repetitive motions including bending, kneeling, reaching, and twisting

- Ability to climb stairs and ladders

- Ability to work weekends/afterhours when required
