Job Summary
Operates semi/switch trucks, overhead cranes, and side loaders in order to unload the banding/bundler machines, store in the warehouse, load, and transport material to the tractor-trailer in the loading dock per shipping instructions, and load and unload annealing furnaces.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•
Communicates with supervisor for shipping and delivery instructions. Ensures bundle weights are correct.
•
Unloads rod bundles with side loader, loads and unloads annealing furnaces, read shipping tag, scans bundle summary tag with bar code scanning unit, and scans warehouse location for the material to be correctly located and stored.
•
Operates remote controlled overhead crane, paints and tags material to be loaded on trailers, loads bundles onto tractor/trailer.
•
Positions bulkheads in the trailer to secure cargo and/or cover and uncover load with a tarp.
•
Weighs and prepares trailers for loading. Prepares documents and receipts for load pick up. Ensures loading of trailer for proper weight distribution. Checks banding straps. Fill out audit sheets.
•
Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
