Job Overview
Advance is seeking a dedicated and experienced Shipping Supervisor to oversee our shipping operations within a fast-paced distribution center. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics and materials handling, with proficiency in warehouse management systems. This role is crucial for ensuring the timely and accurate shipment of products while maintaining compliance with safety regulations.
Duties
•
Supervise daily shipping operations to ensure efficiency and accuracy in the distribution process.
•
Manage a team of shipping personnel, providing training and guidance on best practices in logistics and materials handling.
•
Oversee inventory management processes, ensuring accurate tracking of shipments and stock levels.
•
Implement and maintain compliance with OSHA regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
•
Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) such as AS400 for tracking shipments and inventory levels.
•
Conduct regular audits of shipping processes to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
•
Handle heavy lifting as necessary, ensuring proper techniques are used to maintain safety standards.
Requirements
•
Proven experience in a supervisory role within a warehouse or distribution center environment.
•
Strong knowledge of logistics, inventory management, and materials handling practices.
•
Ability to lift heavy items safely and efficiently.
•
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
•
Strong leadership abilities, capable of motivating a team to achieve operational goals.
•
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for coordinating with team members and other departments.
