Magnolia Power LLC is developing a new, start-of-the-art combined cycle power generating facility in Iberville Parish. The 700 MW generating station will use General Electric’s 7HA.03 advanced-class gas turbine in a one-on-one combined cycle configuration to provide best-in-class efficiency and emissions. The construction phase will be completed by the end of Spring 2025 and will move to commercial operations in the Summer 2025. We are now hiring qualified individuals with a priority focus on safety and environmental to support the operations and maintenance at Magnolia Power. We are looking for a Warehouse (Materials) Technician.
The Warehouse (Materials) Technician is responsible for the purchasing functions of the Plant. Administers the Plant's inventory program and identifies the need for improvements and increased capabilities. The incumbent ensures that the inventory of parts and equipment is complete and accurate.
Primary Functions:
•Maintain records of all fixed assets and purchase requisitions and obtain all necessary signatures.
•Work directly with vendors to place orders and follow up on deliveries. Receive, store, and issue all items, materials and equipment; ordered by purchase order, or furnished by a contractor.
•Ensure all received items are properly inspected, accounted for, documented, and stored.
•Implement all purchasing and inventory management programs and procedures.
•Coordinate with the appropriate supervisors, to obtain personnel for repairs and maintenance.
•Maintain and utilize the Plant’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), for inventory control purposes.
•Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
•Physical requirements may include: working on feet for extensive periods, requiring stair and ladder climbing; and routinely lifting, up to seventy-five (75) pounds.
•Protective equipment such as hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, and high-voltage protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties. Work with hazardous materials may be required.
•Position may require extended working hours, with the possibility of weekend and holiday work; as required by schedules, workload, and Plant conditions.
Experience Required:
•Ability to understand procedures and instructions, specific to the area of assignment as would be acquired in four years of high school.
•General accounting experience is highly desirable.
•Three (3) years of purchasing experience required.
•Two (2) years of experience in warehouse work; to include shipping, receiving, and inventory control, is desirable.
•One year of experience in a mechanical trade is desirable.
•Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
•Experience using computerized accounting and inventory control systems is required.
