WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE - Hammond, IN

ANCO is a leading metal processing and distribution company is seeking an energetic individual to fill a warehouse position at our Hammond, IN facility. Our products include, but-not limited-to: hot-rolled low carbon steel products (angle, bar, tee, strip, sheet, plate, tube, pipe channel, rebar, wire mesh, etc.) Our strengths are extensive steel industry experience, top-notch customer service, and a team-focused culture.

Seeking a full-time Warehouse Associate to pick orders, load/unload flatbed trucks and rail cars, receive and store heavy metal products.

COMPETETIVE PAY- Hourly rate commensurate with experience. Time and a half overtime after 40 hours in a workweek.

Work hours and days are Monday through Friday – 5:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Occasional weekend work may be needed as job duties demand.

To successfully secure this opportunity, you must have:

- Minimum 2 years’ experience in heavy materials-type warehouse picking orders – loading / unloading flatbed trucks and rail cars.

- Minimum 2 years’ forklift experience required.

- Minimum 2 years’ overhead crane experience required.

- Ability to be on your feet for majority of the work hours in a cold/hot warehouse.

- Physically dexterous to climb, lift and move heavy steel material and load/unload delivery trucks.

- Skills in basic math include working with inches, fractions and decimals, ability to read and measure with ruler/tape measure – use of a micrometer/caliper.
