Job Overview:
Warehouse Associate – Roofing & Construction Materials for commercial and residential roofing company
Part-Time to Full-Time | Newburg, WI | Competitive Pay | Small Team Environment
Are you a former roofer, home exterior remodeler, or general contractor looking to stay in the industry without being on the roof full-time? We’re a small, close-knit roofing and home exterior company based in Southern Wisconsin, seeking a Warehouse Associate who brings hands-on industry experience and thrives in a team-focused environment. This role moves at a dynamic pace—fast during peak hours and slower at others—so flexibility and adaptability are key. This role offers a schedule from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM and typically ranges between 25 to 40 hours per week, depending on workload and season.
About the Role
This warehouse position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety and being involved in many aspects of a small business. You’ll play an essential role in our daily operations—from placing material orders and managing inventory to filing permits and supporting crews in the field. If you know roofing or construction and are ready to step off the roof while still applying your knowledge and skills, this could be a great fit.
Key Responsibilities
•Material Handling: Receive, inspect, and verify incoming roofing and construction materials. Confirm accuracy of color, type, and count. Label materials clearly by job/project for accurate future loading.
•Loading & Delivery: Load roofing materials by hand or forklift and deliver to job sites using company vehicles (manual transmission).
•Site Support: Deliver and lay out plywood, coordinate dumpster drop-offs/pickups with foremen, and assist with job site cleanup when needed.
•Equipment Operation: Operate forklifts, heavy-duty trucks, and other warehouse machinery safely and efficiently.
•Permit Filing & Ordering: File building permits online and in person with local municipalities. Place material orders via email or supplier websites, make payments, and ensure proper documentation is filed.
•Phone & Communication: Answer incoming company calls, place outbound calls to vendors and suppliers, and communicate clearly with team members.
•Job Organization: Manage digital and paper job files, coordinate with crews, and ensure all tools and materials are prepped and ready for each project.
What We’re Looking For
•Background in roofing, home exteriors, general contracting, or home improvement (preferred)
•Experience operating forklifts and driving various vehicles, including manual transmission
•Physically able to lift heavy materials and stay active throughout the day
•Basic mechanical knowledge for light equipment maintenance
•Comfortable using email, supplier websites, and digital file management tools
•Strong attention to detail and the ability to anticipate the needs of each job
•Professional communication skills—verbal, written, in-person, and over the phone
•Reliable, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities
•Team-first attitude—willing to jump in wherever needed
Bonus Points If You:
•Are a former roofer, roofing business owner, or contractor looking to move into a supportive, off-the-roof role
•Enjoy a mix of warehouse duties, job site support, and office coordination at different paces throughout the week
•Take pride in making sure crews are fully supported and jobs run smoothly from start to finish
Why Work With Us?
We’re a small, team-oriented company that values reliability, humility, and collaboration. You won’t be just a number here—you’ll be a key contributor to our day-to-day success.
