We are currently seeking a Warehouse Assistant to join our dynamic team. As a Warehouse Assistant, you will be assisting with inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping and receiving, and quality control. This position works in a team environment at our home office in Newburgh, IN. This is not a remote position.
This position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Routine inspections of warehouse equipment and logging inspection activities.
- Operates forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, stack, and retrieve pallets of goods within the warehouse and campus.
- Receives shipments which include unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, and matching purchase orders to sales orders.
- Moving materials/merchandise from receiving or storage areas, sorting and placing materials/merchandise on racks, shelves, or in bins.
- Marking materials with identifying information using proper method.
- Adheres to safety protocols and aids with loading and unloading trucks as needed.
- Reviewing customer orders/pick tickets, work orders, and transfer orders. Works efficiently to meet order deadlines and maintains order accuracy.
- Retrieves items from warehouse shelves or bins based on customer orders, packs them securely for shipping, and prepares them for outbound delivery.
- Assisting in counting of physical inventory
- Organize and clean the warehouse and work areas to ensure it is accessible and safe for all employees.
- Prepare parcels for mailing/shipping using UPS WorldShip system or any other system required to send packages both domestic and internationally.
- Maintain the warehouse with supplies needed, completing requisition forms to order supplies.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- 12 months or more related experience and/or training.
- The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, customer orders, emails, memos, as well as order documents.
- Experience using an ERP system for warehousing preferred but not required.
- The employee must be computer literate and able to use Microsoft Office Suite.
- Working conditions will be primarily inside the warehouse with some level of climate control. Outdoor duties may be required.
Physical Requirements
The employee is required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, and/or crouch. The employee may need to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
