Warehouse Assistant: Receiving / Shipping Clerk Description

The Warehouse Assistant will need to carry out general warehouse duties as directed by the Warehouse Manager. He or she should be able to communicate effectively with co-workers and follow safety guidelines. The Warehouse Assistant will be under the supervision of the Warehouse Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

•

Knowledge in oil and gas type tools and equipment preferred.

•

Previous purchasing and receiving experience a plus.

•

Verify, and inspect the accuracy including support documents of materials shipped/received.

•

Sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code. Mark materials with identifying information.

•

Maintain accurate inventory records through the use of a computerized inventory system

•

Utilize material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, ladders, banding tools, etc.

•

Communicate any order changes to manager.

•

Monitor accurate inventory count and submit reports to management

•

Oversee truck loading operations to ensure all policies and procedures are followed accordingly.

•

Maintain safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallets, external stock areas and work stations neat and free from dirt and clutter.

•

Verification and proper labeling of materials; location on racks, shelves, or in bins (size, type, style, color, expiration, and product code)

•

Pull and distribute materials, tools, or other stock items in order to fill transfers and want list.

•

Utilize material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, ladders, banding tools, etc.

•

Communicate any order changes to manager.

•

Oversee truck loading operations to ensure all policies and procedures are followed accordingly.

•

Maintain safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallets, external stock areas and work stations neat and free from dirt and clutter.

•

Any other request made by supervisor within the scope of warehouse operations to complete the necessary task.

Physical Requirements:

•

The Warehouse Assistant will spend a minimum of 8 hours of standing or in conjunction with bending, kneeling or climbing up and down stairs. He or she will have to do lifting, carrying and moving of supplies and parts. Lift materials weighing -/+ 50 lbs. and placing them on shelves, carts, pallets, etc. The Warehouse Assistant should be able to operate a fork lift.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
