What is a VP – Business Development?

The VP - Business Development spearheads our strategic expansion and elevates our position in the perforating systems market. This is not a role for traditional sales managers or incremental thinkers. We need a bold leader who can architect a growth strategy, identify untapped opportunities, and build a high-performance team to execute on a global scale. You will be a key member of the executive leadership team, shaping the future of our business and driving transformative outcomes in a competitive, fast-evolving industry.


In this role, you will:

- Embody unwavering ethical standards by fostering trust in every interaction. You will align with our mission to operate with honesty, humility, and a commitment to doing what is right, ensuring our growth reflects our core values of adhering to Biblical principles while we serve this industry

- Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to achieve aggressive revenue growth, expand market share, and penetrate new geographies and customer segments

- Identify emerging trends, technologies, and customer needs in the oilfield services and perforating systems space to position Oso Perforating as the industry leader

- Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams to align product development with market demands and customer expectations

- Assess, recruit, and lead a high-caliber business development team, including “boots on the ground” sales and account management professionals, and business analyst to execute your vision

- Cultivate and maintain C-suite relationships with key clients, partners, and industry stakeholders to secure high-value contracts and strategic alliances

- Own the P&L for business development, driving multi-million-dollar deals and ensuring sustainable, profitable growth

- Represent Oso Perforating at industry conferences, trade shows, and forums, establishing the company as a trusted innovator in perforating technology

- Travel in the U.S. and International (must possess a valid driver’s license and meet the company driver requirement to operate a company vehicle while traveling)

- Perform other duties as assigned


Required and Preferred Experience:

- 10+ years of progressive business development leadership in oilfield services, manufacturing, or related industrial sectors, with a demonstrated history of driving 8-figure+ revenue growth

- Scaling businesses, launching new markets, or leading turnarounds, with a knack for identifying and capitalizing on untapped opportunities

- Ability to craft and execute long-term growth strategies while delivering measurable short-term results

- Building and managing high-performance sales and BD teams, with a focus on hiring, mentoring, and aligning talent with strategic objectives.

- Deep understanding of the oil and gas industry, particularly completion technologies, perforating systems, or related equipment manufacturing. Familiarity with global energy markets is a plus

- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence C-level decision-makers and represent the company at the highest levels

- Data-driven decision-maker with experience leveraging market intelligence, CRM tools, and financial metrics to optimize performance


Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

- Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to manipulate with fingers, handle or feel, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and reach with hands and arms

- Required to talk or hear

- Lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. (SEF Energy employees shall not manually lift an item weighing more than 50 lbs., they shall utilize mechanical assistance devices. If mechanical assistance devices are not available, utilize a team lift.)

- Ability to see at a close distance (clear vision at 20 inches or less), see at a long distance (clear vision at 20 feet or more), identify and distinguish colors, observe an area that can be seen up and down or left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point, judge distances and spatial relationships, three-dimensional vision, adjust focus (adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus

- Moderate noise


Education:

- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field required

- MBA or advanced degree preferred but not required if experience is exceptional
