CPV is seeking an experienced Vice President, to lead the Company’s construction and operations functions for combined cycle and carbon capture projects. This successful individual must have an in-depth understanding and experience leading the execution phase of large, complex gas fired combined cycle construction projects to completion. This candidate will be responsible for managing safe, on time, and within budget of construction and commissioning of projects. This candidate must have a solid track record of building and managing successful teams, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, allow for effective interactions with various internal and external stakeholders, along with providing accurate, consistent and timely project updates.
This position will report directly to the Senior Vice President of Engineering and Construction, in our Braintree, MA office.
Summary of Responsibilities
•The specific responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
•Lead the Company’s engineering, procurement and construction team for projects in construction.
•Responsible for and oversee the installation, commissioning and testing of Low Carbon energy projects.
•Lead or support the procurement of major equipment, including contract negotiation.
•Responsible for project level construction budgets and estimates to ensure accuracy of monthly financial forecasts, and operational execution to achieve financial and scheduling budgets.
•Establish and develop standardized Project Management workflows, processes and procedures to drive consistent and successful project delivery;
•Engage in contract and legal negotiations, incident investigations, safety training and project assessments.
•Accountable for completing projects on or before the contractually required substantial completion date, while on or under budget, and targeting a zero (0) safety incident rate.
•Report on project metrics to executive management team; and escalating any issues as necessary.
•Recruit, mentor and develop staff to build and retain a best-in-class team.
Requirements
•15+ years of engineering and renewable construction experience, including proven leadership experience in a relevant senior role with an IPP, EPC Contractor or power generation company.
•Demonstrated success managing teams and collaborating across business groups.
•Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders or subcontracting partners.
•Results driven and adept in working under pressure with tight schedules/budgets in a changing and dynamic environment.
•Solid knowledge and understanding of key value drivers for renewable power projects and prior experience negotiating and understanding equipment, EPC and other key construction related contract documents.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills, expressing clear information to an engineer or a non-engineer audience.
•Exhibit strong interpersonal skills, and a professional demeanor that aligns with CPV’s Core Values.
•Ability to travel as necessary.
•Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management / science or related field.
•Must pass a pre-employment background and financial credit check.
