What You'll Do
As a Vehicle and Hydraulic Mechanic, you'll:
- Provide timely, courteous, and professional service to maintain our fleet vehicles and hydraulic systems.
- Perform repairs on everything from engines and transmissions to hydraulics and braking systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance and in-depth troubleshooting for all system vehicles and equipment.
- Assist with roadside breakdowns and transport vehicles when needed (including occasional overnight stays).
- Ensure inspections and documentation meet all regulatory standards (State, Federal, D.O.T.).
- Keep our shop and work areas clean, safe, and well-organized.
What We're Looking For
You'll Thrive In This Role If You- Have 3+ years' experience as a general vehicle mechanic (hydraulic system experience preferred).
- Have strong knowledge of:
- Diesel and gasoline engines
- Drive train systems, brakes (including anti-lock and air brakes), AC systems
- Fuel injection and electrical/hydraulic schematics
- Are skilled in welding, cutting, brazing, and fabrication.
- Have the ability to read and interpret technical instructions and service data.
- Have basic computer skills for maintenance tracking and documentation.
- Understand the importance of safety and compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Are dependable, organized, and a strong team player.
- High school diploma or GED required (or equivalent work experience).
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record (7 years required).
- Must pass all required DOT physicals and drug screenings.
- Certifications in:
- Air conditioning recovery
- Brake inspection
- NC D.O.T. vehicle inspections
- Hydraulic equipment inspections
