We are seeking motivated Valve Service Technicians to join our team in maintaining, repairing, and testing valves used in natural gas midstream systems. This role involves hands-on work with gate, ball, check, and plug valves, as well as actuators, in both field and shop environments. We are committed to training willing candidates, including those new to the industry, to become skilled technicians ensuring the integrity and performance of natural gas pipeline systems. Travel is a key component of this role, with a typical schedule of Monday through Thursday and occasional weekends, and overnight stays may be required depending on job location. - Perform maintenance, repair, and overhaul of valves specific to natural gas midstream systems, including gate, ball, check, and plug valves, as well as pneumatic and hydraulic actuators, with guidance provided during training.
- Conduct diagnostic testing, to ensure valve compliance with natural gas industry standards, with support from experienced team members.
- Troubleshoot valve and actuator issues, learning to identify root causes and implement repairs to maintain pipeline safety and efficiency.
- Use specialized tools, including torque wrenches, lapping machines, and test benches, with comprehensive training provided to ensure proficiency.
- Document service activities, including parts used, test results, and compliance data, in detailed reports for clients and regulatory purposes.
- Adhere to safety protocols, including OSHA, DOT, PHMSA, and company-specific standards, with thorough safety training provided.
- Collaborate with field crews and communicate effectively with clients to ensure seamless project execution.
- Participate in extensive on-the-job training and certification programs to develop expertise in natural gas valve technologies and industry regulations.
- Travel to client sites, including remote pipeline locations, typically Monday through Thursday, with occasional weekend work. Overnight stays may be required depending on the distance of the job from our facility.
- Experience: 0–5 years of experience; prior experience as a valve service technician or in a mechanical role within the oil and gas industry is a plus but not required. We welcome motivated candidates eager to learn.
- Willingness to learn servicing of valves and actuators used in natural gas pipelines.
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting (training provided as needed).
- Valid driver’s license required; TWIC card, OSHA 10/30, or valve-specific certifications (e.g., OQ's) are a plus but not required. We’ll support you in obtaining relevant certifications.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, and perform tasks in various weather conditions at field locations.
