Assist the Auxiliary Equipment Operator in manipulating and adjusting the nuclear plant auxiliary equipment other than from in the control room in a safe and reliable manner.
- Operate, align, verify alignment of auxiliary systems according to approved procedures and instructions.
- Inspect assigned areas, inspect running equipment for proper operation and valve alignment, and standby equipment for readiness.
- Clear, tag, and return equipment to service as directed and in accordance to Clearance Permit System.
- Take readings, record data and make appropriate entries in station logs, complete procedural paperwork.
- Report and maintain log of unusual events and changes in operating conditions.
- Support and participate in the Emergency Plan Organization, HAZMAT response organization, and Corrective Action Program activities as assigned, and in accordance with procedures and policies applicable for the assigned role.
- Responsible for continuously upgrading knowledge and skill.

- Specific knowledge of nuclear standards and nuclear policies, practices and procedures relating to plant operations.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Effective writing and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to pass the preemployment POSS Test.
- May perform walk downs in plant environment which may include exposure to: heat, cold, noise, and radiation exposure
The Physical Demand Level for this job is: M – Medium Work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
