Utility Equipment Operator – Sand Plant

Description Love operating heavy equipment? Like the idea of working on the water?

At Martin Marietta’s Linn County Sand Plant, just outside Ely, Iowa, you can do both. We’re looking for a Utility Equipment Operator to join our hardworking crew to operate various heavy equipment along with the dredge! You will play a hands-on role in producing high-quality sand and gravel used in essential infrastructure projects.

Essential Responsibilities

- Operate various types of heavy equipment including off-road haul trucks, loaders, water trucks, skid loaders, and dredging equipment

- Perform daily inspection of vehicle and work area as assigned

- Observe visual and auditory signals during vehicle operation

- Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment; clean equipment

- Assist on plant maintenance and repairs as needed

- Other mining-related duties as required

Minimum Education And Experience

- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required

- Minimum 1 year previous experience in a role with similar responsibilities

- Bilingual is a plus
