Overview
The Nexus Water Group team has an opportunity for a Utilities Systems Supervisor . This role is Solely responsible for oversight of the Utilities department and the day to day management of the outside utilities on the US Army Gillem Enclave installation specifically: primary natural gas distribution system, fire suppression & potable water distribution system, and gravity sewer collection system. This includes maintaining and repairing all utility related equipment/functions located at Gillem Enclave and developing 5 year rolling capital plans. This position provides day to day oversight and training to the outside utility staff. Additionally this position is the site Safety Officer for the Utilities department. The Utilities Systems Supervisor must interface on a daily basis with the Gillem Enclave Director of Public Works and the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) as well as internal Corix Senior Management and be able to manage regulatory compliance and contractual terms related to site specific service requirements.

What You'll do
•Performs the full array of duties including repair, installation, testing regulators and valve shut off troubleshooting, new construction and/or working with a designated emergency maintenance subcontractor, valve shut off, and locating/marking lines to maintain the Gillem Enclave natural gas distribution.
•Uses/operates a bucket lift, backhoe and other heavy equipment; power and hand tools throughout the day to accomplish the duties of the job including digging trenches and laying water or sewer pipe and natural gas lines and/or working with a designated maintenance subcontractor to accomplish the maintenance, repair or replacement of water or sewer pipe and natural gas lines.
•Welds pipe and performs pipe cutting when needed.
•Performs sample water tests for bacteria to ensure water safety.
•Completes all necessary documentation and log books to track work and be able to manage contractual terms related to site specific service and reporting requirements at Gillem Enclave for the US Army client and to local regulatory agencies .
•Provide leadership with daily reports.
•Provide input about staff performance to leadership.
•Requires 24 hour responsiveness to various situations.
•Meets Company goals and objectives in conformance with budgetary guidelines.
•Assists with controlling and tracking operating expenses and capital spending.
•Works with Supervisor and FP&A group to explain budget vs. actual variances.
What You'll Bring
Experience
•Six (6) or more years of experience working with water or natural gas distribution, or sewer collection systems; engineering, planning, operations, maintenance or construction of these types of utility systems including minimum two (2) or more years preparing and managing budgets and supervising employees.
Education
•Bachelor’s degree, this may be required in some circumstances; completion of multiple utility industry related courses, seminars, management, and supervisory training is preferred.
Certifications
•Must have a minimum GA Class IV Water or Sewer certification.
Nice to Have
•Previous experience operating heavy equipment, such as backhoes, augers, and tractors is preferred.
•Must have or be able to obtain Operator Qualification Certifications in various disciplines for natural gas distribution

•Job requires obtaining security clearance for work on an active military installation.
•Job requires driving own and/or company vehicle from location to location on Gillem Enclave.
Work Environment
•This position requires working outdoors in all-weather environments including rain, snow, extreme cold, or high heat.
•This position requires operating and exposure to risk of operating heavy equipment such as: backhoes, tractors, and bucket trucks. Exposed to risks such as leaking gas mains and excavation hazards, heights and hazardous chemicals.
•Must wear/use all protective equipment including, Fire rated Arc suits, hard hat, safety eye wear, flame suits, and safety shoes, as required; must be OSHA compliant.
