Vehicle Tradesperson Welder & Metal Fabrication - Surrey Garage

Hourly Rate: $ 46.23
What you'll do
•As per IBEW Collective Agreement.
•A Vehicle Tradesperson, Weld and Metal Fabrication repairs, maintains, modifies and commissions vehicles and
equipment, including the fabrication of specific components. This includes using telematics to proactively manage
nondestructive testing safe for use structural weld repairs. Must be a red seal certified Welder and/or Metal Fabricator.
•A Vehicle Tradesperson Welder & Metal Fabrication may be assisted by a Driver/Helper
•These duties shall include the repair, maintenance, modification and commissioning of vehicles and equipment.

•Valid B.C. Class 5 driver's license or ability to obtain one

current time in role as outlined in the Collective Agreements will apply.
•A written quiz covering technical, safety, and administrative skills may form part of the selection process
•Extensive travel through the province is required to complete annual NDT Welding repairs plus all running welding repairs
on all Fleet vehicles.
This position is specific to Fleet Services and preference will be given to the candidates with the following:
•Class 3 driver’s license or the ability to obtain Class 3 driver’s license with air endorsement.
•Red Seal B Level Welding Certification
•Extensive aluminum welding experience needed in following processes: aluminum Tungsten Inert Gas welding, aluminum
wire feed welding, SS Tungsten Inert Gas, GMAW solid wire & flux core, SMAW, oxygen/acetylene gas cutting & welding
accompanied with fabrication skills.
•Ability to read blueprints and interpret engineering drawings.
•Certified aerial operator training.
•Ability to safely operate all fleet equipment.
•In-depth knowledge of the following shop equipment :hydraulic shear, vertical band saw, belt grinder, ironworker, hydraulic
press & brake, pipe bender.
•Thorough knowledge of Fleet's Internal Garage Maintenance Management Program
•Attention to detail as it is essential for this role
•In accordance to the collective agreement this role will be entitled to a tool allowance.
