Summary: This position will provide maintenance support to the Chicago location including but not limited to inspections, predictive and preventative maintenance and repairs. This role works alongside management, operators, contractors and other staff, as well as works independently on projects. This role supports a 24 hour, 5-7 days-a-week operation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:(Management reserves the right to add or modify the duties and responsibilities at any time.)
- Performs varied mechanical duties such as dismantling, rigging, repairing and installing pulleys, power shafts, hoists, conveyers and other facility equipment.
- Starts up and shuts down equipment in line with company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
- Installs and/or changes the layout of equipment in the facility.
- Uses blueprints and reference journals in conformance with applicable codes and safe operating practices
- Analyzes mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and plans for and takes corrective action
- Reviews work planning schedule and makes repairs, changes or upgrades in a manner as to correspond with and/or minimize production down time.
- Tests equipment for proper operation after repairs, changeovers or excessive down time.
- Instructs and/or directs the actions of other maintenance personnel as assigned.
- Operates lathe & drill press in situations where precision tolerances are critical.
- Repairs conveyor belts utilizing appropriate splicing processes.
- Performs layout and fabrication work.

Must be able to demonstrate the ability to trouble shoot, repair or replace equipment. Retain a high degree of physical stamina for extended hours. Must possess the minimum tool list requirements within two weeks of employment. Must be able to operate machinery and heavy equipment. Have the ability to work overtime, holidays, nights, weekends or different shifts.
Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent is required. 3+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial environment. Maintenance. Experience and knowledge of PLC systems preferred.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should be PC proficient and possess the ability to quickly master skills required to function.
