Position

Underground short-range planner, Nunavut

Location and Reporting Structure

Reporting to the Senior Mine Engineer - Underground, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.

Responsibilities

- Lead short-range mine planning by developing weekly development and production schedules in collaboration with key stakeholders;

- Maintain and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly reports and databases, including production tracking against guidance, reconciliation summaries, and variance analyses;

- Produce development layouts and facilitate planning meetings, including weekly scheduling, 24-hour forecasting, and design reviews;

- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for underground operations and effectively communicate between engineering and cross-functional teams such as mining, geology, maintenance, and electrical;

- Manage and update short-range Deswik files and planning documents, ensuring proper coordination and document control with underground operations supervisors; and

- Conduct routine inspections of active underground areas to verify compliance with B2Gold’s Nunavut regulations and adherence to all applicable health, safety, and environmental standards.

Desired Competencies and Requirements

- Minimum of three (3) years of underground engineering experience in hard rock mining, including one (1) year in short-term planning; experience on remote sites preferred;

- Bachelor’s degree in Mine Engineering or Geological Engineering is required; or a related field may be considered with relevant experience;

- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation and membership in the Nunavut Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists or ability to obtain; and

- Proficiency in Deswik (CAD, Sched, IS) strongly preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

For informational purposes, the estimated annual earnings are $135,733.00 for 2184 scheduled hours (combined regular hourly rate of $49.25 and overtime rate of $73.88) in a work year.
