About This Job

As our Underground Mobile Maintenance Planner, you are responsible for preparing, compiling, and maintaining records, documents, reports, and statistics pertaining to mobile mining equipment in an underground hard rock mining operation to keep our production going and our profitability up. Every day you will work at a mine on a remote island about 18 miles outside of Juneau, Alaska. You'll start every day organizing, scheduling, and prioritizing work activities to promote a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment. You will be called upon to manage all routine data and withdrawal associated with the maintenance group in a computerized maintenance management system. Those who thrive in this role are self-motivated, detail-oriented, mechanically inclined problem solvers. We're on a remote island; you must know how to work independently, as a part of team, and identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.

About Us

The Greens Creek Mine, located on Admiralty Island 18 miles south of Juneau, is an underground polymetallic mine operating since 1989, employing approximately 500 people. The mine is owned and operated by Hecla Mining Company, headquartered in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Established in 1891, Hecla has a rich history as a distinguished and respected precious metals producer. Here's What You Can Expect In This Role

Training first. Every hire is provided MSHA training in the first 4 days on the job. We also provide department-level training on not just what to do, but how to do it safely, as well.

You have extensive knowledge in mechanical maintenance, and maintenance planning skills. You will utilize these skills to procure warehouse stock, manage assets, and assist with supply chain issues at site.

You will implement process-based maintenance programs, coordinating with operations, engineering, and outside services to refine the overall maintenance program.

You will generate work orders, maintain in-service details on equipment, and record modifications to equipment.

•

You will track as well as schedule preventative maintenance to maintain all safety and environmental-oriented certifications.

•

Safety is important. Every piece of equipment and each work area must be inspected before work starts. You will promote and personally observe safety procedures.
