Parthenon Tube, Inc., a division of American Consolidated Industries, has a history of providing steel tube to some of the nation’s largest end users in the automotive, furniture, agriculture, and engineered products industries. Parthenon Tube, Inc. has an immediate full-time Tube Operator position available.
Under general supervision, the Operator III performs a variety of highly skilled tasks involved involving the operations processes; excellent understanding of equipment and performs related work as required.
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
· Wear all proper protective equipment as required in work and in accordance with Safety Policy and OSHA standards.
· Maintain a safe and healthful work environment by practicing safe work habits, good housekeeping procedures and adhering to safety guidelines.
· Full understanding of how to run multiple machines in operations.
· Generate build sheets based on production work orders
· Reconcile coil identity to production and load coil
· Maintain production and quality standards by measuring and verifying before during and after processing
· Check and record camber, burr and surface condition (if applicable)
· Set gauge monitoring system (if applicable) and ensure gauge calibration
· Adjust machine setup to correct defects as needed throughout process (if applicable)
· Communicate non-compliance production to supervisor and/or shift lead
· Assist maintenance to troubleshoot malfunctions or complete preventative maintenance as necessary
· Remove scrap from machine and empty hopper as needed
· Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
· Ability to use computers, read tape measures, micrometers and calipers
· Ability to perform complete set-up and operational tasks of slitting to ensure compliance with customer specifications and production requirements
· Dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs
· Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
· Ability to work outside normal business hours/days as needed
· Able to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the company
· Able to read and comprehend simple work instructions, work orders, short correspondence and memos written in English
· Able to write simple correspondence in English
