Supervisory Responsibilities

•

Hires, drive tests, trains and supervise CDL drivers

•

Oversee the daily workflow, schedules and assignments of transportation employees

•

Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive

•

Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy

Duties/ Responsibilities:

•

Management of up to 40 + drivers

•

Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations

•

Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance

•

Directing and overseeing transportation-related operations such as managing staff that assists with transportation activities such as dispatching, routing, and tracking.

•

Oversee the coordination and routing of material

•

Directs dispatching and routing activities and tracks transportation vehicles.

•

Ensure that customer difficulties or problems are investigated and resolved.

•

Communicates with billing working with material classifications or billing.

•

Negotiates and secures contracts with third party transportation providers and customers.

•

Assist customers on the phone with sales orders.

•

Implements safety audits and trains staff members on safety issues.

Requirements

•

Valid commercial driver's license (CDL A) required.

•

Proven experience as a truck driver with a strong safety record.

•

.Experience in materials trucking operations

•

At least 2-3 years management experience

•

Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality

•

Excellent written and oral communications skills

•

Strong logistical, analytical, and problem-solving skills

•

Proficient with Microsoft ( Word, Excel, Outlook Email) and Dashboard systems

•

A self-starter, who can work independently with a high degree of organizational skills and attention to detail while working on several projects at one time
