Summary of Position
The driver will be responsible for collecting packages and deliver them to customers. They maintain logs to track their route schedule and confirm deliveries. They will need to operate a delivery truck or van in a safe, efficient manner to deliver packages to customers within a particular area. The driver will be responsible for obtaining signatures from recipients when delivering materials.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Safely transporting various products and materials to and from specified locations in a timely manner
- Operate trucks on overnight trips
- Operate trucks in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations
- Assisting with the loading and offloading of products, and materials
- Adjusting travel routes to avoid traffic congestion or road construction
- Promptly informing the company of any tickets issued against the company vehicle during work hours
- Ensuring that the company vehicle is always parked in areas that permit parking to avoid towing
- Keeping the company vehicle clean and properly maintained by performing regular washing, cleaning and vehicle maintenance
- Providing accurate time records of the company vehicle’s coming and goings
- Reporting any accidents, injuries, and vehicle damage to management
- High school diploma or GED is preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- Clean driving record
- Proven experience as a truck driver with a valid commercial driver's license (CDL Class A)
- Sound knowledge of road safety regulations
- The ability to utilize maps, GPS systems, and car manuals
- Effective communication skills
- Punctual and dependable
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction
- Operate with high integrity, maintaining positive relations with co-workers, customers, and suppliers
- Strong work ethic; initiative-taking
- Basic computer skills
- Good written and oral communication skills

Good working conditions. Frequent visual/auditory attention and involvement required to place tags on appropriate materials. Requires continuous use of computer to receive and give information.
