Truck Driver - Class 1

Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting Scrap Metal in a few different configurations from a Super B with walls to a 53' Step Deck. Experience operating a wheel loader is a bonus.

Duties

- Operate commercial vehicles to transport freight to designated locations.

- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.

- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of driving hours and vehicle maintenance.

- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that arise during transport.

- Operate heavy equipment as needed for loading/unloading tasks.

- Utilize forklift equipment for efficient handling of goods when required.

Requirements

- Valid class 1 license

- Proven experience in commercial driving or heavy equipment operation is preferred.

- Familiarity with freight handling procedures and safety protocols.

- Basic automotive repair skills are a plus for minor vehicle maintenance tasks.

- Ability to lift heavy loads and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading freight.

- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
