About This Job

We are seeking an experienced Traveling Concrete Superintendent with expertise in tilt-wall construction for commercial projects. This role requires extensive travel to various project sites across the country. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in managing concrete operations, specifically tilt-wall construction for retail or commercial buildings, and will ideally bring their own crew to work on projects.


Key Responsibilities:

Oversee Tilt-Wall Operations: Manage and supervise all aspects of tilt-wall concrete work, from formwork and reinforcing to casting, lifting, and installation.
Project Management: Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Communicate project timelines, deliverables, and expectations with clients and subcontractors.
Team Supervision: Manage, mentor, and lead a crew of concrete workers, carpenters, and laborers. Ensure the crew follows safety protocols and performs efficiently.
Crew Coordination: Ensure proper staffing levels and equipment are available for each project. If you have your own crew, you will be responsible for mobilizing and managing your team on each job site.
Quality Control: Conduct quality checks on all concrete work to ensure it meets company standards, building codes, and client expectations.
Safety Management: Enforce safety procedures and practices at all times, ensuring all team members adhere to OSHA standards and company policies.
Client Relations: Work directly with clients, project managers, and general contractors to address any concerns, updates, and changes during the construction process.
Travel: Travel frequently to various job sites across the country, depending on project locations.


Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum of 5 years in commercial concrete construction with a focus on tilt-wall operations. Specific experience with tilt-wall construction for retail or commercial buildings is highly preferred.
Crew Ownership: Preferred to have your own crew. Experience managing and leading a crew of concrete workers and subcontractors is essential.
Leadership: Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and direct a diverse team.
Technical Skills: Solid understanding of tilt-wall construction techniques, concrete forms, and rebar placement.
Safety Knowledge: Deep knowledge of safety standards and practices (OSHA and company-specific).
Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot on-site issues and make real-time decisions to keep the project moving smoothly.
Travel Flexibility: Must be willing to travel extensively for the duration of the project, including overnight stays when required.


Preferred Skills:

Tilt-Wall Retail Experience: Previous work on tilt-wall construction for retail buildings or other commercial structures.
Crew Management: Proven success managing a self-sufficient, reliable crew.
Project Management Experience: Prior experience in project management or coordination within concrete construction.
Certifications: OSHA certifications, Concrete Certification, and any additional trade certifications are a plus.
