Central Electric Power Cooperative is currently accepting applications for the position of Transmission System Operator. This position will work with other employees to monitor and operate the CEPC Electrical Transmission System. Typical activities include monitoring power flows, voltages, and status of equipment on the transmission system as well as writing switching orders and remotely assisting field crews with equipment operation control. Individuals interested in this position should have a minimum of an associate's degree in industrial electricity, electrical distribution systems, electronics, or other closely related field. Experience in power system operations or electrical dispatching is desired and may be considered in lieu of a degree. This position also requires the ability to attain and maintain NERC Transmission Operator certification within one year of start date. Individuals must understand electrical system fundamentals and have basic computer skills. The ability to interpret advanced electrical systems is desired. This position will require shift work and the ability to be on call.
