We serve these entities on a range of projects, offering consultation on technology utilization, design solutions for electrical and mechanical systems, public health systems, and equipment procurement and construction phase services.
Description
Provide support in the detailed design of 69-500kV transmission line projects, including preparing specifications, handling administrative duties, or performing field engineering related to assigned projects under the supervision of the immediate supervisor or another designated professional engineer. The incumbent must have demonstrated work experience using PLS-CADD Suite, MFAD, and LPile to complete design and engineering tasks. Additionally, the incumbent should understand the fundamental issues involved in developing engineering packages and construction documentation for the assigned projects.
Key Responsibilities
•Design of engineered systems of small size and lower complexity. Activities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
•Monitor the project construction activities to ensure compliance with plans and specifications. Activities may include, but are not limited to, acting as Resident Engineer on small projects. Interpret plans and specifications, applying available information to satisfy all project design requirements, including equipment specification, proposal evaluation, and requisitioning. Engineering calculations to ensure the safety and performance of equipment and systems. Develop structure framing details, to include all structure views, hardware, grounding details, and bill of materials for various pole materials, ex, steel, wood, or concrete poles. Create a comprehensive construction design package that incorporates all required details for construction, including specific instructions, bill of materials, structure list, staking table, and stringing charts, along with engineering calculations to ensure the safety and performance of transmission facilities, equipment, and systems.
•Maintain familiarity with appropriate engineering and construction codes and ensure compliance with all codes. Prepare and/or monitor construction schedules to ensure the timely completion of the work. Institute and direct changes to the work when required by differing site conditions. Conduct on-site design or investigation work to ensure the adequacy of methods. Receive, evaluate, and approve contractors’ invoices. Receive and inspect equipment to be installed on the project and approve for payment. Prepare reports and feasibility studies for submission to management.
•Serve as a project engineer or project manager on assigned projects.
•Promote efficient flow of information and ensure complete and accurate record keeping.
•Be familiar with the Client/Company’s drawing system, design, construction standards, and applicable industry codes and practices.

Position Requirements
•Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program or a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program, and completing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
•A professional engineer’s license is preferred (State of Florida).
•2-4 years of experience in the engineering of related projects.
•Strong understanding and knowledge of industry and national codes and standards, including but not limited to NEC, Life Safety Code NFPA 101, NFPA 70/70E, IEEE, and International Building Code.
•Experience with system design software, Auto CADD, L-Pile, Microsoft Office, and PLS-CADD Suite required. Strong analytical and management skills
•Willingness to travel for site surveys, project scope walks, and meetings.

Pay: $79,000.00 - $97,000.00 per year
