Transfer Truck Driver/Equipment Operator

General Engineering Contractor, Peters Excavating Inc., seeks qualified Transfer Truck Driver/Equipment Operator for our projects in and around Sonoma, Napa, Marin, Solano and Mendocino Counties. We specialize in grading, paving and utilities for single- and multi-family homes, commercial properties and public works.

This is not an entry-level position. We are an open shop with plenty of work; premium wage and potential for both overtime and prevailing wage work. Clean driving record with no DUIs is mandatory, as is a pre-employment drug-screen and legal authorization to work in the U.S.

The right candidate should be able to operate a small amount of equipment and know basic knowledge of stripping, demolition, and excavation for all site work activities.

Benefits include paid time off after one year full-time employment, health benefits after 6 months, and 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching after one year full-time employment.

Pay is up to $40 DOE

This position requires the following:

-Legal status to work in the USA

-Valid Class A License with clean H-6 DMV report (no accidents, DUI's, or current tickets)

-Verifiable minimum of three years of commercial Class A qualified driving, incident free

-Able to safely demonstrate the proper skill and knowledge of operating heavy equipment

-Must be able to pass a DOT background check

-Must submit to Previous Employer Alcohol and Drug Testing procedural forms.

-Ability to pass physical, including pre-employment alcohol and drug test

-Must pass a road test including DOT pre & post trip procedures

-Must be compliant with all federal, state, local and company compliance requirements

-Must maintain accurate written records

-Be able to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.)

-Must be able to positively and professionally communicate with customers

-Must be fluent in English

-Must be RELIABLE
