To help facilitate our expanding business, RMS Energy is currently seeking a Training Manager. Our Training Manager's is primarily responsible for overseeing and managing the development and delivery of technical training programs related to power solutions in utility, industrial facility, renewable energy, data center and critical infrastructure across the entire electrical grid.


Responsibilities

Design and Development: Create instructional materials, including e-learning modules, instructor-led training, technical training, practical training, assessments, multimedia content, videos, manuals, and other training materials with the help of Subject Matter Experts (SME), regulations and standards (IEEE, NFPA, etc.).
On-the-Job Training: Develop a plan for on-the-job training and continuing education to provide a mechanism to learn, practice and assess job skills.
Needs Assessment: Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze learning needs and define project objectives and goals.
Field: Periodically meet with and conduct field observations of employees to determine their level of progression, answer technical questions, solicit course feedback, and provide support to those employees experiencing problems understanding equipment, processes or procedures.
Key Performance Indicators: Develop, monitor and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for all Workforce Development programs.
Curriculum Design: Develop curriculum frameworks that align with organizational goals and learning outcomes.
Evaluation and Improvement: Monitor the effectiveness of the training programs through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics; continuously improve training methodologies, content, and delivery methods based on evaluation results. Evaluate trainee competency through tests, simulations, and practical assessments to ensure understanding and application of the material.
Training Instruction: Deliver training on a variety of topics to employees and groups to accomplish the Organization’s learning objectives and ensure training meets the technical needs of employees and focus on practical, on-the-job skills development.
Safety: Promote and enforce safety standards and coordinate with the Safety Team regarding safe practices for the curriculum; ensure employees understand
Content Review: Evaluate existing training materials for effectiveness and recommend improvements based on best practices in instructional design.
Technology Integration: Utilize various educational technologies and authoring tools to enhance learning experiences, including graphic design tools, LMS, API, VR, and other methodology.
Reporting: Prepare and present reports to management, tracking training progress, completion rates, and impact on performance.
Collaboration: Work closely with subject matter experts, trainers, and other team members to ensure content accuracy and relevance.
Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to timelines and budget constraints.
Boost Engagement: Integrate cutting-edge technology to boost learner engagement and utilize interactive tools, technology and resources to improve learner outcomes.
Stay Updated: Keep abreast of the latest trends and technologies in instructional design and adult learning theories.
Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems is preferred. However, candidates with extensive experience in training and development within high-voltage electrical systems and equipment, along with a degree in Business Administration, Education, Organizational Development, or Instructional Design, will also be considered.
Minimum of 10 years' experience in high voltage electrical systems and equipment, including experience in training and development.
Proven experience in learning management systems, training coordination, and instructional design and development, preferably in a corporate or educational setting.
Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM). Experience in a utility setting or electrical service preferred.
Strong knowledge of electrical standards and electrical safety standards and regulations required. (IEEE, NFPA 70E, OSHA, NEC, etc.)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate across departments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
Detail oriented and excellent organizational skills.


Other Requirements

Possess the ability to commit to extensive travel requirements, ensuring a minimum of 25% travel time to various business units and job sites across different locations.
The ability to work in high-pressure environments while managing multiple priorities.
Ability to pass a background check, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and policies.

Working Conditions

The working conditions for this role primarily involve a standard office environment with typical office noise levels. The role requires prolonged periods of sitting, working at a computer, and performing tasks that demand visual acuity for reading and typing. This job may require travel to RMS facilities and other sites.


Physical Requirements

Physical requirements include the ability to occasionally lift and carry office supplies weighing up to 20 pounds, the capability to move within the office to access files, office machinery, and meeting rooms, and fine motor skills for keyboard use. Proficiency in speaking, hearing, reading, and typing in English is essential for effective communication and documentation.
