The base salary for this position is dependent upon experience and location.

Job Summary
Responsible for trading ERCOT, PJM and WECC cash and short-term markets. Develop and execute trading, hedging and asset bidding strategies to optimize and/or monetize the corporate asset portfolio. Develop and manage hedging strategies for all assets. Assist Business Development, Origination and Structuring on deal evaluations. Assist the west coast forward trading desk as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Trade short and medium-term physical and financial power focusing on the ERCOT, PJM, ISONE and WECC.
- Develop and manage bidding/hedging strategies for corporate assets.
- Develop and manage hedging strategies for corporate long term-fixed price contracts and corporate assets.
- Manage Individual Proprietary Trading book.
- Evaluate market conditions to optimize corporate asset book in the short-term and medium-term markets.
- Assist Business Development, Structuring and Origination with deal evaluation
- Lend commercial leadership to the Company's development and origination activities to expand the company's power portfolio.
- Provide leadership to Real Time Desk and support personnel in power trading group.
- Adhere to internal controls.- 5+ years of work experience in power trading; including 3 years in the ERCOT/PJM/WECC Markets.
- Ability to model intra-day and next day pricing and load to devise strategies.
- Ability to solve problems and explain the ideas that underlie them.
- Quick learning curve with the ability to receive, process, and transact on information.
- Proven ability to understand market conditions and to identify arbitrage opportunities.
- PC proficiency, especially with Excel, and experience with automated tools to support trading activity.
- Ability to travel as needed for the position.
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, business, finance, economics, or engineering.
- Experience with ERCOT, PJM and WECC markets.
- Ability to navigate and succeed in a highly matrixed reporting structure, preferably at an international company.
- Self-starter with demonstrated performance leading initiatives and building consensus at all levels of a matrixed global organization.
- Ability to work effectively in an environment where consensus between diverse work streams is often required before projects can proceed.
- Ability to efficiently manage multiple, concurrent, time sensitive projects and priorities.
- Effectively provides and receives information orally in individual and group situations. Written expression is clear, concise, and conveys the desired message.
