Railroad Track Foreman
We are a rail track maintenance and construction services contractor operating over most of the Eastern half of the US. We are looking for an eager, physically fit, safety-minded foreman to work on our busy, fast paced, railroad maintenance & construction crews. Applicants should be flexible with scheduling and have access to reliable transportation as travel is required.
What Will You Do?
•Remove and replace railroad ties, pulling and driving spikes and shoveling rock ballast.
•Maintain track beds by cutting vegetation and brush when needed, and sweeping, picking and digging dust or snow from movable track parts.
•Work outdoors at various times during the day and all-weather conditions throughout the year.
•Handle equipment and material that weighs up to 65 pounds and help others handle even heavier items.
What Will You Learn?
In this position you will check and correct broken rails, defective switches, deteriorating track bed, track obstructions and weather-related problems. You'll gain experience with all sorts of tools including air hammers, air- or gas-powered wrenches, rail drills and portable abrasive saws.
Requirements
•You must be at least 18 years old.
•3-4 years experience in rail work.
•This is heavy, physical work. You must have stamina and strength.
•Willing and able to travel to various job sites, including those that require overnight stays.
•Capable of working in inclement weather and/or conditions.
•Capable of wearing personal protective equipment and following safety rules and standards.
•High School diploma or equivalent.
•Previous experience in railroad or other heavy construction or maintenance industry preferred but not required.
•Sign up and enter National Labor Union.
What Will You Make?
•Our Track Foremen currently earn up to $34.00 per hour depending on location based on Union-negotiated agreements.

Training
As a Track Foreman, you must complete mandated training related to safety and work procedures. Specific training – welding, track work, machine operation, bridge work, etc. – will be offered to those expressing the desire and who have built a solid performance background.
