Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Total Station and Scanner Operator to join our dynamic mechanical contracting team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining total stations and 3D laser scanners to support construction, mechanical installations, and project coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
•Operate total stations and 3D laser scanners to layout & collect precise measurements and data for mechanical systems and construction layouts.
•Set up, calibrate, and maintain surveying equipment to ensure accuracy.
•Perform field surveys to support mechanical installations, including piping, HVAC, and structural components.
•Process and analyze scan data to create accurate as-built drawings and models.
•Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure alignment with project specifications.
•Maintain detailed records of measurements and data for project documentation.
•Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor repairs as needed.
•Could be travel within Oregon & Washington (majority of work near Vancouver and Portland)
Qualifications:
•Minimum 2 years of experience operating total stations (e.g., Leica, Trimble, Topcon) and 3D laser scanners (e.g., Faro, Leica).
•Proficiency in surveying software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, or similar).
•Strong understanding of mechanical systems and construction processes.
•Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
•Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
•Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
•OSHA 10/30 certification is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
•Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling) coordination.
•Knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, or HVAC system layouts.
•Familiarity with point cloud processing and data integration.
