- Prep material for machining.
- Fabricate tooling components using shop equipment such as sanders, lathes, drill presses, hand drills, etc.
- Assemble foundry tooling according to assembly prints.
- Polish new or existing tooling.
- Must be capable to do quick repairs to patterns or core boxes in the plants.
- Layout and troubleshoot tooling dimensions and stack-ups, utilizing basic metrology equipment.
- Perform alterations to tooling or build new tooling components and mount.
- Fabricate, repair or alter core boxes, blow heads, gas heads, ejection systems, etc.
- Weld repair damaged tooling.
- Unsupervised assembly & repair of new or existing tooling.
- Load fixtures and run pre-programmed parts on CNC equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Vocational or community college with related coursework or equivalent experience preferred.
- Employ critical thinking, logic, and reasoning to troubleshoot and solve problems.
- Use of overhead hoists and fork trucks for material movement and machine loading.
- Thorough understanding of the WF Tooling Manual and how to find relevant specs & standards.
