Job Summary
The Tool & Fleet Manager is responsible for the organization, tracking, and maintenance of all company tools and equipment, as well as overseeing the management of the company fleet. This includes ensuring tools are properly tracked using the MJ Nester tool website, maintained, and stocked for job site use, while also ensuring that all company vehicles comply with DOT regulations and are well-maintained. This position reports directly to the Office Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Tool & Equipment Management
•Organize and maintain the tool room in compliance with 5S, EHS, and housekeeping standards.
•Contribute to the creation and implementation of tool room best practices, policies, and procedures to improve operational efficiency.
•Utilize the MJ Nester tool website to track tool inventory, ensuring that all tools are signed in and out properly for job site use.
•Track and maintain records of tools, including service history, faults, and job site usage, via the tool website and other tracking systems.
•Ensure tools are returned on time and in proper condition, maintaining accountability for tool usage and condition.
•Purchase new tools and equipment for use on job sites, coordinating with project managers to meet job-specific needs.
•Oversee the repair of damaged tools and coordinate safety-related issues with the Safety Compliance Manager.
•Ensure full stock of commonly used consumables and essential items.
•Source tools and equipment from multiple vendors, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective solutions.
Fleet Management
•Maintain and manage the company’s fleet of vehicles, ensuring that each truck is properly tracked, signed out, and outfitted with the necessary tools and equipment for job site use.
•Ensure that each vehicle is stocked with the appropriate tools and equipment needed for its assigned tasks, minimizing downtime or delays during project execution.
•Implement and monitor a system for tracking vehicles, ensuring that all vehicles are signed out and returned according to company protocols.
•Ensure all tools assigned to vehicles are signed for by the respective foreman and communicated to HR for proper documentation and storage in both digital and physical records.
•Perform regular maintenance on fleet vehicles, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations and safety standards.
•Work closely with the Safety Compliance Manager to ensure that all fleet vehicles meet DOT compliance and safety requirements.
•Track vehicle mileage and schedule regular maintenance as required, including oil changes, tire rotations, and any other necessary repairs or inspections.
•Maintain detailed records of all vehicle maintenance, repairs, and inspections, including receipts and purchase orders.
•Ensure that all trucks and vehicles are in optimal working condition and ready for deployment on job sites.
•Coordinate with the Safety Compliance Manager, Office Manager, and HR to document all vehicle-related incidents and accidents, including speeding and other traffic violations, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
•Monitor dash cams installed in fleet vehicles to review driving behavior, identify traffic violations, and ensure compliance with company safety standards.
•Track and document traffic violations such as speeding, improper lane changes, or other infractions, collaborating with HR and Safety Compliance Manager for follow-up and corrective actions.
Purchasing & Inventory Management
•Track and reconcile receipts, packing slips, and invoices related to tools and fleet vehicles.
•Work with the Employee Development Manager to ensure accurate processing of invoices and packing slips.
•Receive and verify orders, ensuring the correct items are received and stored in an organized manner.
•Manage the maintenance and storage of chemicals and SDS (Safety Data Sheets), working with the Safety Compliance Manager to ensure proper storage and handling practices.

Salary
$55,000 - $65,000 per year
