About This Job

Precision Manufacturing Group, Inc., a fabricator of precision metal parts, is seeking a skilled light metal (carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum) TIG Welder to interpret and build weldments to a print, read and apply Bills of Material, perform fabrications according to workflow routings and work orders. As a Welder/Fabricator, your key responsibility will be welding light metal parts together using the TIG welding process. You will be working on original designs and routine project work.

Responsibilities

•

Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures

•

Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements

•

Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)

•

Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded

•

Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces

•

Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)

•

Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws

•

Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety

Skills

•

Proven experience as welder

•

Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures

•

Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)

•

Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings

•

Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)

•

Deftness and attention to detail

•

Professional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) will be a plus

What it takes:

3+ years of welding experience

•

3+ years of fabrication experience

•

Basic computer proficiency

Qualifications

•

Welding Certification

•

Proficiency in TIG welding

•

Experience in fabrication

•

Ability to use calipers for precise measurements

•

Basic computer skills for documentation and communication

•

Familiarity with blueprint reading and interpreting welding symbols

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
