The Thread Washer responsible for cleaning, inspecting, and maintaining threaded connections on pipes, casings, and other equipment. This role ensures that threading is free from contaminants and defects, supporting safe and efficient assembly in field operations. Working closely with quality control and maintenance teams, the Thread Washer contributes to maintaining operational standards and preventing equipment failure. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively in shop or field environments.
- Clean threads on pipes, casings, and other oilfield equipment using brushes, solvents, and cleaning agents.
- Remove dirt, debris, grease, and other contaminants from threaded connections.
- Perform routine maintenance and upkeep of cleaning tools and equipment.
- Inspect threads for damage, wear, or defects such as cracks or corrosion.
- Report any irregularities to supervisors or quality control teams.
- Ensure threads meet specifications and are ready for assembly or deployment.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures during cleaning and handling activities.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to environmental regulations.
- Properly handle and dispose of cleaning agents and hazardous materials.
- Coordinate with other team members to prioritize cleaning tasks based on operational needs.
- Maintain accurate records of cleaned and inspected components.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to ensure workflow efficiency.
- Basic knowledge of oilfield equipment and threaded connections.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform thorough inspections.
- Physical ability to lift and handle heavy equipment, stand for long periods, and work in demanding environments.
- Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and wear required PPE.
- Previous experience in oilfield operations, maintenance, or a similar role.
- Familiarity with threading standards and inspection procedures.
- Knowledge of industrial cleaning tools and agents.
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications related to threading.
