Fisher Construction Group is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Thermal Superintendent to oversee and manage the installation of Insulated Metal Panels (IMPs) on commercial and industrial construction projects. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of IMP systems, building envelope best practices, and thermal performance requirements. This role requires strong leadership skills to coordinate crews, enforce safety and quality standards, and ensure successful project delivery on time and within budget.
Thermal Superintendent Job Duties and Responsibilities:
•Lead and supervise field crews during the installation of insulated metal panel systems on job sites.
•Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and submittals related to thermal envelope work.
•Ensure proper handling, alignment, sealing, and fastening of IMPs according to manufacturer guidelines and industry standards.
•Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and other trades to avoid conflicts and ensure smooth workflow.
•Conduct daily site inspections to monitor quality control, thermal integrity, and safety compliance.
•Schedule and manage deliveries of materials to meet project timelines.
•Troubleshoot installation issues and resolve technical challenges in the field.
•Maintain accurate daily reports, including progress updates, crew performance, and material usage.
•Ensure that thermal envelope details meet code requirements and project energy efficiency goals.
•Mentor and train field personnel in proper IMP installation techniques and safety practices.
Thermal Superintendent Qualifications:
•5+ years of direct experience installing and overseeing insulated metal panel systems on commercial or industrial projects.
•Proven supervisory or superintendent experience in the construction industry.
•Strong understanding of building envelope principles, thermal insulation, vapor barriers, and moisture management.
•Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and technical specifications.
•Knowledge of OSHA standards and commitment to job site safety.
•Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
•Proficient with project documentation tools (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid, Microsoft Office Suite).
•High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or relevant certifications preferred.
•Ability to travel to various job sites as needed.
