We are looking for a Testing and Instrumentation Project Engineer in Charlotte, NC to set up and commission non-contact blade vibration measurement systems to monitor and analyze blade vibrations during the commissioning of power plants
- Perform parametrization of measurement systems.
- Handle online monitoring of blade vibrations during commissioning and backpressure variation testing, assess blade vibration measurement data and parameterize measurement systems.
- Carry out function and signal tests for measurement equipment and ensure safe plant operation with regard to blade vibrations during commissioning and backpressure excursion testing.
- Document all the testing records and troubleshoot all data acquisition equipment.
- 40% domestic travel required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field and 8 years of experience.
- Will accept 2 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.
- Full term of experience must include: tip timing software knowledge;
- Data acquisition troubleshooting techniques;
- Probe manufacturing;
- Data acquisition operations;
- Thermal crystal temperature measurements;
- Dynamic data acquisition;
- Instrumentation repair techniques; and
- Project management skills.
- 40% domestic travel required.
