Position Summary

The successful candidate will excel in enhancing cash flow, mitigating financial risks, and ensuring timely customer payments. Responsibilities include managing a portfolio of accounts, securing payments, resolving disputes, and enforcing company credit policies. This role will significantly contribute to the company's financial health by reducing outstanding balances and improving overall accounts receivable performance.

The ideal candidate is persistent, detail-oriented, and excels in communication within a fast-paced setting. Reporting to the Territory Director, this role collaborates with the Accounts Receivable and Customer Care teams to streamline collections and resolve outstanding balances efficiently.


Essential Job Responsibilities

Proactive Collections – Monitor and follow up on past-due accounts to secure payments and reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO). Contact customers via phone, email, and written communication to resolve outstanding balances.
Account Management – Track payment status, review historical account data, and ensure compliance with AR policy guidelines for account status changes.
Dispute Resolution – Investigate and resolve billing disputes, invoice discrepancies, and payment issues to remove obstacles to collection. Prepare account reconciliations and adjustments as needed.
Escalation & Recovery – Identify chronic delinquent accounts and recommend next steps, including payment plans, account escalations, or third-party collections, following company policies.
Record Maintenance – Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of collection activities, customer interactions, and payment agreements in the system.
Collaboration – Partner with the AR team, Customer Care, and local management to streamline collection efforts, address recurring issues, and improve collection processes.
Process Improvement – Identify inefficiencies in the collection process and propose solutions to enhance recovery rates and cash flow performance.


Performance Metrics & Expectations

Success in this role will be measured by:

Meeting or exceeding monthly past-due reduction targets
Maintaining low DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) levels within company benchmarks
Ensuring X% decrease of delinquent accounts receives timely follow-ups and resolution
Improving first-contact resolution rates on billing disputes


Qualifications

2-3 years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, or credit management
Strong skills in account reconciliation, data analysis, and Excel
Excellent negotiation and communication skills with a professional, customer-focused approach
Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and make independent decisions
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple accounts effectively
